Why can't anyone enter or leave Tenebris? The main reason for this is because of the rumours circulating around the realm. It isn't any secret that Tenebris is crippled with poverty and disease, and is ruled by the Lupus that roam just about every corner of the dark realm. While this is actually true, the rest of Veldora sees them as nothing more than rumours. Which brings us to our next point.
The beasts of all of the realms refuse to go anywhere near the borders. This is because it gives off a dangerous aura. Like how animals in our world can sense danger, the beasts of Veldora can sense something dangerous beyond the borders of Tenebris. And when even the most fearsome creatures of Veldora are scared of something, that can't mean anything good for mere humans.
The Lupus are also a major factor in the danger levels of Tenebris. Even though they're basically nothing more than giant wolves, they're strong. Unnaturally so. So much than they can match the strength of a dragon. So while they're not quite strong enough to take down a dragon with little to no effort, they can still take one on and stand a chance. Which means that even the strongest of Veldora's warriors don't stand a chance against them. The Lupus are essentially what prevents anyone from leaving Tenebris. So once someone enters, they'll be calling the dark realm their home pretty quickly.
There are exceptions regarding the entering and leaving of Tenebris, and challenging the Lupus (and surviving), but these characters have this power for plot purposes.
Why can't humans use magic?
While Veldora is a world that lives and breathes magic, humans can't wield it because they aren't magical beings. In order for someone to be able to use and control magic, they need to be born with magical properties. Humans aren't born with such a thing.
Again, there are exceptions to this rule, but these characters are , once again, only abl to do so for reasons that are yet to be disclosed to the public.
How strong is Veldora's magic?
While there is a lot of magic in Veldora, it isn't terribly potent. Magical anomalies do not happen because Veldora's magical energy is concentrated only where it needs to be (see Areis and Velderoth). The place with the most concentrated magical energy is The Between.
What are the Guardians of Veldora?
The Guardians are the gods that created Veldora. The Guardian of Fire, Water, Earth and Wind created Veldora many millennia ago, and their spirits are said to reside in The Between, in the crystals in the Shrine. There is a fifth crystal in the Shrine which no one knows the purpose of. Some say that it represents Veldora, and some believe that another Guardian's spirit rests within that crystal.
Can my character have a gryphon?
This is entirely dependent on where your character comes from. Gryphons are native to Velderoth and The Between and are impossible to find anywhere else. On top of this, they are also incredibly rare, and are mostly likely to be found in a royal stable. The easiest way to get one is to be born of royal blood, or have strong ties to the royal family. Or, if you don't want to spend the time getting cozy with the king, you could just steal one. This is unlikely to end well for you though. Most likely in a dungeon cell. If your character has tamed a wild gryphon, then you will need permission from Nekomimi Archives before your application can be accepted. Because these creatures are rare, it wouldn't make sense to have every second character running around with one.
Can my character have a (insert beast here) even though they live in (insert realm here)?
Unless your character is living in Tenebris, then yes. Just like in the real world, people don't always live in one place for the rest of their lives. It isn't strange for someone in Terra to get around on a Salamander from Ignis, or for someone in Aquilla to own a Bird instead of a Natare. In fact, there are plenty of Birds in Aquilla because the Natare are essentially useless on land.
Can my character be from the royal family?
Currently, no. Until more royal families are added, characters of royal blood are limited to Ryu Magna, Aran Magna and Ellion Mateu.
What is the actual plot of Secrets of Veldora?
At the moment, there is none, however, one has been written up and is ready to be put into place. The reason why Veldora remains plotless for now, is because I would like a little more activity, and for characters to get settled into the world before a plot is implemented. Worry not, there is one on the way.
