Below is everything that you will need to know about the world of Veldora. If you have any more questions about the world, you can contact Nekomimi Archives either in the chatbox, via PM or Skype.
Realms
The world of Veldora is split into six different areas, or realms. And just like the real world, each realm has a vastly different look and feel to it. Each realm also has a native creature in which they have tamed to use as workhorses, and modes of transportation
Below are the realms that make up Veldora.
Ignis
Ignis is the embodiment of fire. Lava pools and volcanoes make up a vast majority of the landscape while the rest is mostly barren land. Salamanders serve as their mode of transportation and workhorses.
Areis
Areis is the realm of air and is made up of various floating islands. Giant birds of various species serve as their mode of transportation and workhorses. Areis is also home to many 'free riders'.
Terra
Terra is the realm of earth and is mostly desert and rock. Tunnellers serve as Terra's mode of transportation and workhorses.
Aquilla
Aquilla is the realm of water, and is made up of various islands. Natare serve is their mode of transportation and workhorses.
Velderoth
Veldora's capital city and home of the Aven Guarde. Because Velderoth -- much like Areis -- exists across various floating islands, their main mode of transportation are birds, however, dragons are not uncommon among residents of Velderoth, most noticeably the Aven Guarde. Like Areis, Velderoth is home to many free riders.
Tenebris
Tenebris is the realm of darkness. It is no more than a barren wasteland, save for the ominous castle that can be seen in the distance. Tenebris is crippled with poverty, and not one wealthy person exists within this realm. No one has ever left it either, as they all die before they can even reach the borders. Residents of Tenebris do not have any mode of transportation aside from their own two -- or less -- feet.
The Between
The Between is a small part of Veldora that is not under the control of any realm. Technically, The Between belongs to the Guardians of Veldora.
Beasts
Below are the native creatures that the residents of each realm has tamed for use as transportation and workhorses.
Salamanders
Salamanders are basically giant lizards immune to extreme heat and fire. They are able to walk on vertical walls, and can be rather hard to stay mounted on.
Birds
Literally giant birds. Birds are significantly more dangerous to ride as they are well...flying mounts. They are also quite popular among free riders.
Tunnellers
Giant rats. They are known as Tunnellers because the residents of Terra use them to aid in mining efforts.
Natare
Giant sharks. Because Natare occupy the water, they're used more as carthorses to pull boats, than individual mounts.
Lupus
Giant wolves. Lupus are native to Tenebris, and are yet to be domesticated due to the realm's current state. Anyone foolish enough to stray too far from the town is very likely to be mauled apart by these vicious creatures.
Dragons
Dragons are the mount of choice for the Aven Guarde, and extremely popular among free riders.
Gryphons
Gryphons are extremely rare and very hard to come by. They're native to Velderoth and The Between, and are reserved mostly for royalty. Though it is uncommon for someone not of royal blood to be in possession of one of these creatures, it is not unheard of, either.
Free Riders
Free riders are the thrill seekers of Veldora. They ride without a harness on their beast. A great deal of trust between the rider and the beast is needed for a -- somewhat -- safe ride.
The Military
Because no functioning society would be complete without a force to keep the peace. There are four forms of the military force that makes up Veldora, which can be found below, ordered from least to most elite.
Police
The most basic and most common military force in Veldora, the police simply keep the peace in the town in which they are based in.
Realm Police
A step above the regular police, the realm police govern the realm in which they are based in.
King's Guard
The king's guard is a far more elite part of the military than the police. As the name suggests, the king's guard is charged with protecting the king
Aven Guarde
The Aven Guarde is situated in the heart of Velderoth, and is sworn to protect Veldora from any forces that may threaten the peace of the land. Although they directly serve the king, they are governed by a separate party. The Aven Guarde can be easily identified by -- if not their showy armour -- the dragons that they can be seen mounted upon.
Technology in Veldora
The world of Veldora is set in a medieval-like era, so any technology available in the modern world does not exist. But who needs an Xbox when you have a dragon, amirite?
Magic
While Veldora is a world that lives and breathes magic, the humans that populate it are unable to wield it. This may change some time in the future, but for the time being, Veldora's residents remain magic-less.
The Guardians of Veldora
The Guardians of Veldora are beings that are said to have created Veldora, and protect it from any forces that may threaten the peace of the world. The Guardians are not religious figures, however, as their existence has been proven many times before, with a number of witnesses to support their existence.
There are four Guardians that are known to the inhabitants of Veldora:
- The Guardian of Fire
- The Guardian of Water
- The Guardian of Air
- The Guardian of Earth
